Mess Silverware has long been an emotive part of regimental tradition, each item having its own historical significance. However, for many reasons it is not always practical to afford it the attention needed. We provide a range of services for the renovation and repair of all Mess silver. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to offer friendly, professional help and advice.

Apache AH1 model takes pride of place

This stunning, hand made centrepiece was recently created by S.E.Riordan for the Army Air Corps. Fully detailed in 1:35 scale, the model is mounted on a mahogany plinth which is decorated with hand engraved airfield map and regimental insignia. The piece is now proudly on display in it's own, bespoke cabinet at the Mess entrance.

Handy hints for bright silverware

Although there is no substitute for professional cleaning and refurbishment, here are some useful tips to ensure your silverware is looking its best:

* Do not use abrasive materials or cleaning agents.

* Always clean your silver using a good quality cleaning solution - we recommend Goddard's Hotel Silver Dip.

* This should be applied with a soft brush, stippled gently into recesses and carefully removed with warm water.

* Dry with a soft cotton towel and finish with a good quality silver cloth.

* If you notice any traces of pinkish colour residue on any of your silverware, this must be completely removed as it can be corrosive.

* Excess wax can usually be removed with hot water or paraffin, although we recommend you call us for further advice.

Dating back to 1907, the cup has now been restored to its former glory after being subjected to years of enthusiastic celebrations!

'Green Light - Go'

Designed and produced for Airborne Forces Charities, this Limited Edition model was created in Sterling Silver and gilded with 18ct yellow gold. It is one of only five to be made in this finish.

Model Miniatures

In addition to large scale Mess centrepieces, we also create miniature models and figures for Mess leaving gifts and presentation items.

Work in progress

Currently, we are busy making the above Sterling Silver 1:48 scale Merlin helicopter for the RAF. Every piece of the aircraft has to be painstakingly created by hand - the main rotor hub alone consists of 46 individual components. The detail is taken directly from maintenance manuals and photographs. The rear of the aircraft will feature the ramp in lowered position exposing machine gun and support mount, along with internal specifications such as jump seats, sound proof detail, cabling and roof lining.
