WELCOME to our newsletter. In addition to featuring some of our latest creations and new designs, we aim to provide an invaluable and informative guide to diamonds. Which Diamond? Diamonds are graded by Colour, Cut, Clarity and Carat weight. Diamonds can cover the entire spectrum of colours and this is denoted in alphabetical order, the very best colourless stones being D, E and F. Near colourless stones are described as G, H, I and J, with K-Z being faint through to light yellow. Cuts & Shapes The cut of a diamond is an essential characteristic. Regardless of the shape and colour, a well cut stone will be bright and vibrant, which will reflect upon its value and appeal.
The classic round brilliant, perhaps the best known and most popular of cuts.

Clarity
As diamonds are naturally occurring, most will have imperfections or inclusions within.
Piqué stones are those with clearly visible inclusions which can be seen without magnification. Stones having very small marks which can be seen under 10x magnification are described as SI. VVS and VS stones are those which may contain very slight inclusions which can be extremely difficult to spot under 10x magnification, these are described as Flawless. We hope you find this information usefule, but please remember, choosing a diamond is not an exact science and you should purchase a stone that feels right for you!

Exquisite Wildlife - In Miniature!
At Riordan's we are pleased to present the first two pieces in a series of limited edition wildlife miniatures, an adorable fawn and a leaping frog on a lily pad. Over the coming months, we will be introducing several other highly collectable birds and animals. Each piece will be hallmarked and individually numbered - the perfect gift for any occasion.

Redesign & Modernise
Do you have any old or worn items of jewellery hidden away, gathering dust? Why not let us remake them into something stylish that you can wear. This will almost certainly cost considerably less than a new purchase, with the added bonus of retaining any sentimental value.  These beautiful earrings were made using gold and diamonds from a number of old items.  This ring we recently redesigned is a fine example of how we can combine a traditional stye with a more contemporary feel. Using three old cut diamonds in a modern four claw setting, on a yellow gold shank with white gold inlaid shoulders. |
 New Mums & Dads  Are you, or is anybody you know, expecting a baby? If so, we have created a new range of bespoke gift items based upon these fine, hand sculptured baby's feet. Available as charms, pendants, cufflinks or a keepsake, we can reproduce them in Sterling Silver, 9 or 18ct gold and platinum. You can further personalise them by adding the birth stone of your baby.
